CAREER EXLORATION PRESENTATION, ASSIGNMENT #2
The purpose of this assignment is for you to show that you can follow instructions, research, use online resources, read, annotate, summarize, paraphrase, organize, and explain information about a career interest of yours to academic peers using Power Point. If you haven’t used Power Point before, you will get help. You will have some time in class to work on this, but you must also work outside of class. If you do not have personal online computer access, then you can use the Computer Lab in Building 34 or the Library in Building 22.

Instructions:
- Return to www.mynextmove.org/find/search and locate your favorite choice of the three careers you reviewed for the MY NEXT MOVE CAREER EXLORATION ASSIGNMENT #1.
- At the bottom of the page, click on the link to “ONet Online” that takes you to a Summary page that gives more information on the career you have chosen.
- On your “ONet Online” Summary page, find the View Report navigation bar that gives you the option of Summary, Details, and Custom. Click on Details. Find the following information on the Details page (or by using links provided on the Details page. To create answers to use in your Power Point, you must summarize and paraphrase to make the information shorter and clear. Use your own words.
- Top three most important tasks in this work, in order of importance.
- Three technology tools that are used in this work.
- Top three important things to know to do this work, in order of importance.
- Top three skills to have to do this work, in order of importance.
- Top three abilities to have to do this work, in order of importance.
- Top three work activities for this work.
- Three related kinds of careers or work.
- The education needed for this career.
- The median wage in the country and the average wage in our state, Washington (a link).
- Projected annual job openings in the nation and in Washington State (a link).
- Using Power Point, make a total of thirteen easy to read, simple slides:
- One slide for each of the above ten points: summarize and paraphrase to make answers short and clear.
- One slide that introduces the assignment. Include the name of the assignment, the career title, your name, and due date
- One slide that provides a picture of someone doing this type of work—search online
- One slide that cites these two websites: www.mynextmove.org and ONet Online.
Hint: go to the bottom of the page and click on “Cite this page” near the Share section. Cut and paste into Power Point or Prezi. Use the MLA option.
