Confusing Words:
In English we have words that sound the same, are not spelled the same, and mean something different from each other. These are called HOMOPHONES. Consider words like there, their, and they're. Principal or principle? Its or it's? Read or red? Meet or meat?
There are other words that tend to confuse us, too. Sometimes works like sit, set, lie, and lay. How about when to use affect or effect? Which or witch? When do we use which word? How do we spell them? Memorizing is the only solution. Get familiar with the situations when these sometimes confusing words are used.
