Calendar for WEEK 6, Transition Class
Monday:
· Evaluate completed introductory paragraphs using Introductory Paragraph Rubric; peer review process introduced.
· Edit and revise introductory paragraph based on peer review and instructor input.
· Go over narrowing topic, locating information that does not relate, and the importance of a controlling idea using exercises on the website.
· Write paragraph 2 of essay from your plan. Revise plan, as needed—due tomorrow with revised introductory paragraph.
Homework: Write paragraph 2 and revise introductory paragraph.
Tuesday:
· Where are you with your Instructor Interview? Report to class/instructor.
· Evaluate paragraph 2 with Paragraph Rubric. Read to a peer for feedback. Revise.
· Begin paragraph 3 and 4; paragraph 3 is due on Thursday. Paragraph 4 is due on Friday.
· Read “Indian Father’s Plea” under Reading tab on website or below:

Thursday:
· First half of class:
*Paragraph 3 is to be done. Review it with the Paragraph Rubric. Read your paragraph to a peer review group and get feedback. Revise and edit. Complete paragraph 4 if you have time.
Second half of class:
· Work on “Indian Father’s Plea” assignment and get help from instructor, as needed. It is due on Friday. Type the answers on a separate paper for readability. Double space. Restate or recopy each question and make sure that the question numbers match on both your paper and the original.
Friday:
· Paragraph 4 is due. Use Paragraph Rubric, as before. Read your paragraph to a peer and revise, as needed.
· Concluding paragraph—overview.
· Concluding paragraph—write a draft for your essay. Completed for Monday. Be prepared to edit and revise the entire essay on Monday.
· Turn in “Indian Father’s Plea” assignment, typed and double spaced.
Homework: Complete your essay, including the conclusion paragraph. Type it, save it, and be able to access it on Monday when we will cover final editing and revising. Prepare to peer review your essay on Monday, as well. You must have the essay completed or you will not get credit for attending on that day.
